Compensation Programs

HR Matrix has over 25 years of experience assessing and designing compensation programs. In addition to the latest law in California, which requires companies to have pay ranges and pay rates posted on job postings, we can help create a compensation program to help you attract and retain employees.
Our Approach to Compensation
We believe compensation and benefits are a baseline for your hiring and recruiting process. We customize our compensation work to meet compliance requirements, but ultimately to help you compete for talent in your industry and community.

We help companies determine an appropriate total cash compensation (base pay, plus bonus and/or perquisites) for all positions. We match the actual functions of positions against “like” industries, size, and geographic targets. The goal is to develop a compensation structure that will ensure your company is paying an appropriate rate to attract and retain quality talent that will help your company meet or exceed its strategic goals.
Our Services & Deliverables
  • Pull market-based data from valid salary survey sources and compare your data with the market data.
  • Provide new proposed pay ranges, along with a variance report and a written report reflecting the findings and suggestions to correct potential pay discrepancies, while also recommending possible job title changes.
  • Create a Total Cash Compensation Statement to communicate the new pay ranges/titles and compa-ratios to individuals. Additional communication and marketing materials for the program can be provided.
  • Review the existing bonus plans and make recommendations and/or design new ones.
During a compensation review, we often find issues with exempt vs. non-exempt classifications. We are happy to discuss a review of your job classifications and can conduct an audit to determine the appropriate classification.
